Introduction to Building Science

A comprehensive two-day program designed for new or inexperienced individuals. Building Science is the key to success when building or renovating homes. This course covers the physical processes of heat, air and water movement in a home and provides an introduction to indoor air quality and ventilation. Installers need to understand Building Science principles in order to properly implement energy efficient measures in a home without creating the potential for future problems.

This course will cover:

  • What’s in a building? The systems approach.
  • The physical processes
  • Interaction of the physical processes and the building sub-systems
  • Effects of building materials on heat, air and moisture flow
  • Air quality and ventilation
